Client: UK Leadership Team of a Fortune 100 Global Military Aircraft
Manufacturer & Royal Airforce Programme

Challenge:

Our task was to coach the UK leadership team of a military aircraft manufacturer, alongside a blended team from the Royal Airforce (RAF), to enhance their ability to deliver a multi-billion-pound aviation programme. This programme involved over 500 personnel and aimed to improved the engineering and maintenance function supporting a squadron of 22 military aircraft.

Approach:

  1. Assessment: We conducted a thorough assessment of the joint leadership team using online surveys and one-to-one interviews with team members and key RAF stakeholders.
  2. Customised Coaching: A 12-month coaching programme was designed, comprising monthly team coaching sessions for the 11 leadership members and individual monthly coaching for each team member. This program included the UK CEO and a blended team from both organizations.
  3. Focused Workstreams: We developed and executed multiple workstreams to lead complex organisational changes and enhance the effectiveness of engineering and maintenance teams. This involved stakeholder management strategies and improving collaboration within the team.

Outcome:

  • Operational Improvement: By the end of the coaching programme, the performance and effectiveness of engineering and maintenance teams, as well as the RAF squadron, improved significantly. The operational airworthiness of the supported aircraft saw a remarkable 90% improvement.
  • Recognition: The remarkable progress achieved was recognised and acknowledge by both the aircraft manufacturer and the RAF.
